They/Them

B.A. Music, B.S. Anthropology, M.A. & PhD (soon) Ethnomusicology

I am a queer/nonbinary craftsperson, musician, scholar, and educator currently based in St. John's, NL. Originally from Dunedin, Florida, I began to get more involved in textile crafts, at first just knitting, when I moved to the wintery north. I began weaving in 2020 with my rigid heddle loom arriving just before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic...which was great timing. Since then I have expanded my craft to include spinning, dyeing, crochet, paint making, and more.

My work in craft is heavily influenced by my training as a musician and researcher. Craft is just a physical manifestation of my musical practice. The focus is less in the object and more on the process of creation. Although unlike music where you can never truly have a finished product, it is nice to have something tangible at the end of a craft. Even if you mess up, you still have something to hold at the end.

My Work

I love working with a wide range of techniques and mediums. Like many textile craftspeople, I am never far from picking up a new one. Check out my Instagram to see more!
